Protection for Your Computer

Placing an anti-virus on your computer may be one of the best things you can do,  The purpose of an anti-virus is to protect your computer system from different malware. Malware is just a fancy term for computer virus.  The most common types of viruses include worms, trojans and spyware.  Worms invade your computer by spreading themselves automatically, but a trojan is usually downloaded, yet it seems harmless and they hide harmful functions.  For example, when the human body is attacked by a virus, the immune system suffers greatly.  This same concept applies with the computer and its data.  In most cases, a computer virus will slow down its processor or cause it to completely shut down.  Anti-viruses also keep cybercriminals from hacking into your computer and stealing your personal information.  Cybercriminals surf the internet frequently looking for ways to get into bank accounts.  This gives criminals access to a persons hard earned money.  Protection really is the best policy.

  1. I agree with you that protection from viruses is a key to having a good anti virus protection program placed on your computer. Hackers are always looking for ways to break into a computer just to prove that they can do it. Not really sure which anti-virus program is the best, but I use Norton 360 and it has saved me from many problems. It even allows me to backup my computer to their server in case my computer is destroyed. Haven't had to do it and hopefully, I won't need to. Now, that is an issue in itself. Do I really want my valuable information saved to someone else's server? I will have to think about that alot more. Which program are you using to protect your computer?

  2. I have always wanted to know which antivirus is best. I use Norton 360 as well. My purchase was based on the recommendation of a friend. I still don't have a framework for selecting or evaluating my antivirus. I did read about Anti-Malware at this site because of your post. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2361877,00.asp. Thanks.

  3. Norton 360 is a popular choice for an anti-virus program. I've been using it ever since my PC suffered the effects of the rouge anti-virus application, Security Tool. Security Tool deliberately gives reports of false system security threats on your computer and displays fake security alerts or notifications to make you think your PC is infected with malware. After having this program removed by BestBuy’s Geek Squad, I invested in Norton 360 and have loved it ever since. It defends my wireless home network and provides automatic updates consistently to help ensure I’m protected from new threats.
